Chance To Dance favourite for Winter Final

Thursday 7 July 2016, 7:08am

Imported gelding Chance To Dance is the early favourite for the Listed Winter Championship Series Final at Flemington.

The Robert Hickmott-trained Chance To Dance opened at $8 with TAB fixed odds on Wednesday but has tightened to $5.50 with Kenjorwood out from $5 to share the second line with By The Grace at $7.

The Winter Championship Series Final is one of four Listed races on Saturday's `Finals Day' program along with the All Victorian Sprint Series Final, the A R Creswick Series Final and the Taj Rossi Series Final.

Chance To Dance will be ridden by Craig Williams who has secured a strong book of nine rides which also includes two-year-old Trenchant (Taj Rossi Series Final) and the Darren Weir-trained mare Telopea (Rivette Series Final).

Williams is five wins behind Dwayne Dunn in the Melbourne jockeys' premiership with seven meetings remaining for the season.

Dunn also has a good book of rides at Flemington headlined by odds-on favourite Euro Angel in the Rivette Series Final.
