A popular shuttler to Cornerstone Stud in South Australia for the past three seasons, top class sire Dalakhani (IRE) has been retired from stud duty at age 16.
Dalakhani
Owned and bred by the Aga Khan, Dalakhani was withdrawn from duty at Haras de Bonneville in France earlier this year due to an unspecified vet issue and has now been retired.
A stunning grey Group I winning son of Darshaan, Dalakhani sired 48 stakes-winners worldwide headed by Group I stars such as Conduit, Integral and Reliable Man (GB), who won the Group I ATC Queen Elizabeth Stakes here in Australia.
His 8.9% stakes-winners to runners marked him as a genuinely top class sire and the progress of his Australian bred progeny will be interesting to watch in the next few years.
His first yearlings here sold for up to $620,000 this year and will be racing in the new season.
The final crop of Australian bred Dalakhani foals will be born this spring.
