Queensland trainer Greg Cornish has been fined $7000 after he pleaded guilty to administering a prohibited substance to his racehorse Moonlight Nova at a NSW meeting.
Tranexamic acid, an anti-bleeding agent, was detected in the mare's urine sample following her win in a Benchmark 60 Handicap at Ballina on January 17.
The Beaudesert-based trainer's fine was reduced by $2000 because he admitted the breach and co-operated with stewards throughout the proceedings, Racing NSW said on Thursday.
