Lindsay Park will rely on one its greybeards in a black-type race at Caulfield.

Nine-year-old Jacquinot Bay will be the stable's sole representative in the Group Two P B Lawrence Stakes on Saturday.

Lindsay Park, which now comprises trainers David Hayes, his son Ben and nephew Tom Dabernig, began the new season and partnership with a winning double at the first metropolitan meeting of the new season on Saturday.

David Hayes says Jacquinot Bay is a fresh but fit galloper heading into Saturday's weight-for-age contest.

Jacquinot Bay scored successive 1400m Flemington victories in June before finishing eighth in the Winter Championship final over 1600m at Flemington on July 9.

"He's really going well," Hayes said.

"I think a fresh, fit horse coming off some winter racing is not bad form for this sort of race."

The Caulfield meeting on August 27 will be the starting point for many of the Lindsay Park team.

Hayes said Rising Romance and He Or She would step out in the Memsie Stakes (1400m), the first Group One race of the season.

Caulfield and Melbourne Cup aspirant Almoonqith is scheduled to make his reappearance in the Listed Heatherlie Stakes over 1700m.

Hayes said Rising Romance would race in foal during the spring.

"She'll be served after the Makybe Diva and then we'll continue on with her program," he said.

Hayes was happy with the first-up performance of Dibayani for second to Sooboog in the Aurie's Star Handicap at Flemington on Saturday.

He said the gelding may have another run over the straight 1200 metre course before heading to Sydney for the Epsom Handicap.

"I don't think I'll run him around a bend on his Melbourne leg," Hayes said.

"If I think he might need something a little further he might go up to Sydney a bit earlier."

Hayes is looking at the Toorak Handicap with Pilote D'Essai after his first-up second behind Ulmann on Saturday, describing it as the best performance of his runners on the day.
