Now in the care of champion Victorian trainer Darren Weir, exciting I Am Invincible sprinter Hellbent made it back to back victories when bolting away to win as he pleased at Caulfield on Saturday.
Stakes-placed last spring and an easy winner of the $250,000 Inglis Dash in January when trained by Kurt Goldman, Hellbent looked to be on track for a good campaign when zooming home from near last to win the 1100 metre sprint by more than two lengths as favourite.
Originally a $95,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the draft of Dartbrook Thoroughbreds, Hellbent now runs in the ownership of a partnership headed by Yarraman Park, who stand his illustrious sire. Hellbent has won six of 11 starts earning over $360,000 in prizemoney and will be seeking Black Type this spring.
I Am Invincible broke through the million dollar mark for seasonal earnings on Saturday with his classy son Voodoo Lad a brave second in the Group I MRC Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes while his progressive three year-old daughter Invincibella was a close second in the Listed ATC Reginald Allen Quality.
