Toowoomba trainer Ben Currie has been fined $9000 on a second charge of presenting a horse to race with a prohibited substance.
Last month Queensland Racing Integrity Commission stewards found Currie guilty after Party Till Dawn returned a sample to the prohibited substance methamphetamine at Toowoomba on July 16.
The sentence was adjourned until Wednesday when Currie was fined $9000.
QRIC Commissioner Ross Barnett said stewards took several factors into account when assessing penalty.
He said they included precedents under the same rule, the potential to compromise the health and welfare of Party Till Dawn, the negative impact to the image of racing and Currie's personal circumstances.
Also last month Currie was fined $6000 for presenting Tints to race at Rockhampton in April with the prohibited substance boldenone.
Currie will appeal both decisions.
