Deanne Panya recovering after fall

Sunday 29 January 2017, 4:33pm

Apprentice Deanne Panya has been cleared of throat damage but has a broken collarbone and cuts to her face from a fall at Rosehill.

Panya came off Sebring Express around the 250m-mark in the Widden Stakes on Saturday and was unconscious for a short time.

Racing NSW doctor David Duckworth said Panya had a deep laceration to her chin and a decision would be made on Monday whether she needed further treatment on her collarbone.

Her injuries mean Panya will miss the ride on Sebring Express's Gary Portelli-trained stablemate Testashadow at Randwick on Saturday.

The jockey scored her biggest win when she rode Testashadow to win the $1 million Magic Millions Cup at the Gold Coast on January 14.

Testashadow is scheduled to run in a 1600m-benchmark race at Randwick.
