Apprentice Deanne Panya has undergone surgery on a deep laceration to her chin and is likely to require an operation to repair a broken collarbone suffered in a fall at Rosehill.
The 24-year-old fell from Sebring Express at the 250m mark of the Widden Stakes on Saturday.
Panya, who scored her biggest win on Testashadow in the $1 million Magic Millions Cup two weeks earlier, has vowed to return to riding after her recovery.
She is fourth on the Sydney apprentices' premiership with 12 wins so far during the 2016-17 season.
