Too Good to Refuse and Cylinder Beach have continued their build-up to the Sydney autumn with a strong hit-out between races at Doomben.
The pair raced well in the Brisbane summer, each winning a stakes race and earning trips to Sydney for races such as the Group One Doncaster Mile.
Too Good to Refuse, who was ridden by race jockey Jim Byrne, and Cylinder Beach, with work rider Lani Pearson aboard, worked over 400 metres on Wednesday and stepped up the pace in the final 200m, finishing together.
Trainer Desleigh Forster said it was just what the two horses needed ahead of their returns later this month.
"They both did very well during short breaks. Too Good To Refuse will resume at Eagle Farm on February 18 and then Cylinder Beach will have his comeback run at Doomben a week later," Forster said.
"Then it will be off to Sydney and the lead-up to The Championships."
