Local stars step out in Canberra trial

Friday 3 February 2017, 8:55am

Group One performers Fell Swoop and Single Gaze will step out in a 900 metre barrier trial on their home track at Canberra as they ramp up their preparations for the autumn.

Vinery Stud Stakes winner Single Gaze hasn't raced since she fell in the Australian Oaks last April with her trainer Nick Olive eyeing Group One races such as the Coolmore Classic this autumn.

Multiple Group One placegetter Fell Swoop, trained by Matt Dale, is being prepared for the major sprints.

The barrier trial will be run after the last race at Canberra on Friday.

Single Gaze won a trial on January 20 while Fell Swoop will be making his first appearance since his third in the Darley Classic at Flemington in November.
