Dual Arc winner Treve delivers first foal

Friday 3 February 2017, 9:31am

Dual Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Treve has given birth to a Dubawi colt foal.

Trained by Criquette Head-Maarek, Treve went down in history as one of the greatest racemares of recent times.

Bought by Al Shaqab Racing after winning the Prix de Diane, she won nine of her 13 races but met with defeat on her only visit to Britain, in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2014.

She bounced back to win her second Arc later that year, but had to settle for fourth to the Frankie Dettori-ridden Derby victor Golden Horn in 2015.

Treve gave birth at Al Shaqab's Haras de Bouquetot stud in Normandy, France.

She will be served next by Al Shaqab stallion Shalaa who will shuttle to Australia's Arrowfield Stud later this year.
