Lindsay Park has altered its plan with Almoonqith in a bid to have the stayer at peak fitness for an upcoming target.

Whether that race is in Sydney or Dubai is still to be finalised.

Almoonqith backs up in Saturday's Roy Higgins Quality (2500m) at Flemington a week after he was run off his feet when last in the Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield.

After Saturday, the stable will decide whether the seven-year-old goes to the BMW at Rosehill or the Dubai Gold Cup on World Cup night at Meydan.

Both races are run on March 25 with Almoonqith inoculated on Monday for the possible trip to Dubai.

Almoonqith finished five lengths from the winner Stratum Star in the Peter Young, his first run since finishing second to Beautiful Romance in the Sandown Classic last November.

Senior Lindsay Park trainer David Hayes said Almoonqith was outsprinted at Caulfield.

"They were too fast for him at that trip but I thought he ran quite well," Hayes said.

"He was on trial for the Australian Cup but it looks like now he needs a mile-and-a-half.

"It took him a couple of runs and then he hit form in the Caulfield Cup at that distance."

The 2014 Australian Oaks winner Rising Romance kicks off another campaign in Saturday's Frances Tressady Stakes.

Rising Romance's last victory came at Ellerslie in February 2015 for Donna Logan and after two more starts she was sent to Lindsay Park.

She has finished second in three Group One races for Lindsay Park.

"She's got a bit of an awkward gate but she's in really good form in training," Hayes said.

"Back in mares' class I expect her to run very well."

Stablemate Faatinah, runner-up in the Oakleigh Plate, has been invited to run at the Dubai World Cup meeting but is expected to run in the Galaxy at Rosehill on March 18.
