Honest mare Beatniks gets to her best distance as she tries to end a three-year quest for a black-type win at Eagle Farm.
Beatniks will be having her ninth start in stakes company when she tackles Saturday's Listed Members Cup (1600m).
She had her first start in a stakes race when unplaced in the Princess Stakes in April 2014.
Since then her best efforts have been a third in the Group Three Glenlogan Park Stakes and another third in the Listed Colin McAlpine Memorial Stakes.
Trainer Steve O'Dea believes Beatniks deserves to finally score a win in a black-type race.
Beatniks won her first race in a year at Eagle Farm in a blanket finish two weeks ago but she had been racing with no luck.
"She drew a good barrier last time and she has barrier four again on Saturday," O'Dea said.
"Beatniks has run some good races in stakes races but has been a bit unlucky that a lot of the fillies and mares races in Queensland are at shorter distances."
"The 1600 metres on Saturday is probably what she needs."
Jim Byrne, who won on Beatniks last start, will again ride the mare.
