She Will Reign still Slipper favourite

Saturday 4 March 2017, 3:37pm

Despite her first defeat, She Will Reign retains Golden Slipper favouritism but is being challenged by former market leader Houtzen.

Frolic beat She Will Reign in Saturday's Reisling Stakes in wet conditions at Randwick with the runner-up easing from $2.80 to $3.60 for the $3.5-million Slipper at Rosehill in two weeks.

Magic Millions Classic winner Houtzen raced in Brisbane where she carried 63kg in a two-year-old handicap at Eagle Farm and won easily to firm from $8 to $4.60.

Last week's Blue Diamond Stakes placegetters Catchy and Pariah are on the third line at $11 along with Frolic.

Menari, who finished fifth in the Todman Stakes won by Gunnison at Randwick, eased from $8 to $15 with the winner at $26.

Chauffeur, a Gerald Ryan-trained stablemate to Menari and second to Houtzen in the Magic Millions, is on the fourth line of betting at $15 ahead of his next start in Sunday's Black Opal Stakes for which he is the $5.50 equal favourite with Godolphin colt Trekking.
