Aquis Farm's new recruit Benfica sired his first stakes winner when Godolphin's highly promising three-year-old Eusebio scored a runaway win in Sunday's Listed XXXX Gold Canberra Guineas (1400m).
Threading between runners under an inspired Tommy Berry ride, Eusebio made it three wins on the trot with a two length win over Ebenos (I Am Invincible) with the winners stablemate Bryneich (Lonhro) back in third.
"The team at home worked very hard to get him to relax and get him here today in great order, winning trainer John O'Shea said.
"When he (Berry) made a commitment to go he must have seen a little needle eye opening and let him rip.
"We will get him home and see how he pulls up before we make a commitment on where he goes next.
"For us this is a very important meeting. To come down and get a wonderful surface as this, the clubneed to be commended for putting on a day like this."
A half-brother to Group II Pago Pago Stakes winner Deferential (Royal Academy), Eusebio is the penultimate foal of the Quest For Fame mare Talent Time who is a half-sister to Group II Silver Shadow Stakes winner Katima.
Talent Time was pensioned in 2015. Her final foal is a 2yo sister to Eusebio named Nene.
Eusebio comes from the first crop of former Darley resident Benfica a Group I winning two-year-old by champion racehorse and sire Lonhro.
Benfica (pictured ) is a brother to the dam of Godolphin's smart stakes winner Veranillo from the family of Group I winners Neroli and Riverina Charm.
He covered 88 mares at Aquis Stud last season at a fee of $4,400.
