Friday 24 March 2017, 8:46am

Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign is the first horse named to run in the $10 million Everest.

Syndicator Scott Darby confirmed Yu Long Investments had bought the slot for the inaugural 1200m-race on October 14 at Randwick.

Darby said connections and Yu Long had come to an agreement on a prize money split with the filly to race in the Darby Racing silks and Yu Long to retain the trophy if she wins.

The Chinese company started by businessman Yuesheng Zhang has made a heavy investment in Australian racing and breeding over the past couple of years with a property in Victoria and racehorses with several prominent trainers.

The Gary Portelli-trained She Will Reign has gone for a spell and with the plan to run first-up in the Moir Stakes in September.

The slots for The Everest cost $1.8 million for a three-year term.
