Connections of two of the main chances in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate have shown loyalty by entrusting the rides to unfashionable riders.
Luke Rolls will ride unbeaten All Over Bosanova and Matt Gray has the mount on Ringo's A Rockstar in Saturday's Doomben race which is the launching pad for many three-year-olds heading to the winter carnival.
Rolls, who does most of his riding at provincial tracks, has ridden the unbeaten All Over Bosanova in three of her four starts.
"Luke does a lot of riding for me and he knows All Over Bosanova very well. He rides as good as anyone and he has done a lot of work with her," trainer Mel Eggleston said.
Gray was apprenticed to Ringo's A Rockstar's trainer Norm Stephens and won twice on the gelding in August last year.
He gave up the mount to have surgery on his shoulder late last year.
"Matt does a lot of work for us and he rides Ringo the way we want. He will get the job done," Stephens' son Wayne said.
Ringo's A Rockstar, who has won four races and run second four times in 10 starts, is headed to the Gold Coast Guineas on May 6 in preparation for a possible start in the Queensland Guineas on June 10.
