New Zealand training partners Donna Logan and Chris Gibbs are assembling a strong team for Group One assignments during the Brisbane carnival including Ellerslie winners Qiji Phoenix and Tavidream.
Two-year- old Qiji Phoenix maintained his unbeaten record in Saturday's Listed Diamond Lodge Champagne Stakes before Tavidream won the Group Two Valachi Downs Championship Stakes.
Qiji Phoenix will be set for the Group One J J Atkins at Eagle Farm on June 10 while Tavidream is on a path to the Group One Queensland Derby a week later.
"He's definitely Queensland Derby-bound," Gibbs told NZ Racing Desk.
"The Derby here just came up too soon for him so we backed off and he's rewarded us today so it's onwards and upwards."
Tavidream has now won five of his seven starts, attracting interest from overseas.
"Each time he wins the more the offers come in," Gibbs, who shares in the ownership, said.
Tavidream is from the family of 2015 Victoria Derby winner Tarzino and is also by Tavistock.
Logan is no stranger to Australia where her major wins include the 2014 Australian Oaks with Rising Romance and 2015 Rosehill Guineas with Volkstok'n'barrell.
