With stakes winners in Brisbane and Adelaide and another across the Tasman at Ellerslie, Not A Single Doubt's star continues to shine brightly.
Kicking off the day with 2yo colt Qiji Phoenix in the Listed Champagne Stakes over 1600 metres at Ellerslie (read the story here), Not A Single Doubt hit the board again when his Group I winning daughter Single Gaze claimed the Listed Tails Quality at Doomben (read the story here).
To round out a great day for the Arrowfield stallion, the 3yo filly Kenedna scored a thrilling win in the Group III Auraria Stakes (1800m) at Morphettville.
A decision by jockey John Allen to cut back to the rails and ride for luck proved the winning move asKenedna weaved between runners to defeat With A Bit Of Dash (Dash For Cash) by a length and three-quarters with a length back to Sebring Dream (Sebring) who came from last on the turn to run third.
The Darren Weir-trained filly has been a model of consistency, winning the Group III The Vanity at Flemington in February and at her most recent start where she defeated With A Bit Of Dash again in the Listed Laelia Stakes at Morphettville.
Her overall record stands at 5 wins, 1 second and 3 thirds from 12 starts with earnings of $304,095.
That's a healthy return on the $80,000 outlaid by Darren Weir Racing / John Foote Bloodstock / MDR Bloodstock for the daughter of Not a Single Doubt who was consigned to the 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale by Arrowfield Stud.
Kenedna (pictured as a yearling) is a three-quarter sister to Aquis Farm's highly popular young stallion Spill The Beans (Snitzel) who covered 202 mares in his first season last year.
Their dam Miss Dodwell (Falbrav) was a Tamworth winner in a track career restricted to two starts.
She is a half-sister to Group III winner Yammer and Listed winner Blab the dam of Group I Flight Stakes winner Speak Fondly and Group II Hobartville Stakes winner Wild And Proud.
Miss Dodwell's dam Don't Stop Talking (Ahonoora) is a half-sister to the champion Bounding Away (Biscay) the Horse of the Year in Australia in 1985-86.
Miss Dodwell's yearling filly by Smart Missile was purchased by Cameron Cooke Bloodstock $240,000 at the recent Easter Sale.
She has a weanling filly by Snitzel but missed to that stallion last spring.
