A victory at Benalla in country Victoria has brought up another milestone for Group One-winning jockey Linda Meech.
Meech guided the Peter Morgan-trained Prating home in the third race on Friday's program to bring up her 100th win for the season.
It is the fifth time Meech has reached triple figures in a season and she is the seventh jockey to reach the mark so far in 2016/17.
West Australian William Pike leads the national premiership with 149 wins, five ahead of Brisbane's premier rider Jeff Lloyd.
All Meech's wins this season have been in Victoria, with Dean Yendall leading the statewide premiership on 112.
Meech long had the support of the Peter Moody stable until he closed his business last year, but she has continued to churn out the winners.
"It's nice to get the 100 up," Meech told broadcaster Racing.com.
"Especially without Moods, it's really good.
"I'd love to say I had no worries at all in the world that I'd keep going well without him, but it's always in the back of your mind."
Her biggest win this season has been the Group Two VRC Sires' Produce Stakes at Flemington on Sircconi who is trained by Peter Morgan, the same trainer who prepares Prating.
Meech also reached a century of winners in 2008/09 (111), 2009/10 (109), 2011/12 (108) and 2013/14 (105).
She rides the talented Zebulon for the Morgan stable in Saturday's Listed Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1440m) at Caulfield and popular mare Miss Vista who is favourite for the LU Simon Builders Handicap (1100m).
