Multiple Group One winner Black Heart Bart headlines the nominations for the Group One Stradbroke Handicap.
The first nominations for the seven Group One races over the Brisbane winter carnival closed on Wednesday with 133 horses entered for the Stradbroke to be run on June 10.
Black Heart Bart, who has won five Group One races and more than $3 million, ran a close second to Under The Louvre in the 2016 Stradbroke.
He will be topweight for the 1400m-race when handicaps are announced late next month.
Black Heart Bart is one of 10 nominations for the race by leading Victorian trainer Darren Weir.
Peter and Paul Snowden have nominated eight horses including Group One winner Russian Roulette.
The Brisbane Race Club was happy with the number of entries for the Group One days which start with the Doomben 10,000 on Saturday week.
"It looks like being a strong carnival with just about all of the major stables from the south nominating horses for the big races," BRC racing manager Bart Sinclair said.
There were 40 nominations for the Doomben 10,000, 35 for the Doomben Cup, 64 for the Kingsford Smith Cup, 85 for the Oaks, 98 for the Queensland Derby and 115 for the J J Atkins.
