Soul Stirring a Classic winner for Frankel

Monday 22 May 2017, 6:43am

Soul Stirring has given champion Frankel his first Classic winner with her victory in the Group One Japanese Oaks at Tokyo racecourse.

From the unbeaten Frankel's first crop, Soul Stirring also gave the stallion his first Group One win as a sire in the Hanshen Juvenile Fillies in December and backed it up with her two-length victory on Sunday.

The three-year-old filly, out of Prix Diane-winning mare Stacelita, is trained by Kazuo Fujisawa and was ridden by Christophe Lemaire.

She is one of 11 individual stakes winners from Frankel's first crop.

Frankel, trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil, won all his 14 starts including 10 at Group One level.
