In-form jockey Jason Collett is confident he can continue his successful association with Egyptian Symbol when he reunites with the classy mare at the Gold Coast.
Collett is upbeat about Egyptian Symbol's prospects in Saturday's $1 million Magic Millions Snippets (1200m), one of seven scheduled rides he has at the lucrative meeting.
"I've had a bit to do with her over her last three preps and this is the best she's been," Collett said.
The pair got off to the perfect start when Collett rode Egyptian Symbol for the first time to win the Group Three Nivision Stakes in October, 2016.
Egyptian Symbol extended her impressive first-up record to four wins from five in last month's Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill and Collett noticed a change.
"She was very relaxed first-up and usually she can be quite tense and uptight," he said.
"She's just happy. She's jumping well and she's relaxing."
Collett put the five-year-old's demeanour down to maturity while he also felt trainer Bjorn Baker had settled on effective racing pattern.
"I think we've got that down pat at the moment. She led up in a few races and wasn't quite strong enough at the finish so now we ride her quieter early," he said.
Egyptian Symbol is one of Collett's three Gold Coast rides for Baker.
Collett is back for Goodfella's crack at the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) after missing the colt's previous two starts because of suspension.
