LE MANS (Sebring x Amouage gelding) has drawn barrier 2 of 10 tomorrow in the Listed Gothic Stakes 1400m race 2 at Caulfield, jumping at 12:50pm with Craig Newitt to ride on what is one of the biggest days in our racing calendar, BMW Caulfield Cup Day. The competitive gelding has had 5 starts this season and has been very consistent in all of his runs to date, never failing to create excitement.

I have found the experience so far to be enlightening. It has opened my eyes to a whole new industry that I never gave much thought to. Now I am thinking about the possibilities for the future…

The Mick Price trained 3 year old, Le Mans, has had a little bit of bad luck in a few of his starts this preparation but the promising gelding has always given a good show in every start he has lined up in.
Two starts back on the 21st of September at Caulfield in the Inglis Bonus Handicap over 1700m for 3yo’s Le Mans was very strong to the line to finish in 3rd place in a 3 way battle. The gallant son of Sebring, fought bravely when headed and was only beaten 0.3L from the winner, Rockford.
His latest start was at Flemington in the Listed Yellowglen Vintage Stakes over 1410m and he was extremely unlucky in the race to finish 7th, beaten only 3L after being on heels for majority of the straight.
We are very excited to see how Le Mans performs tomorrow on Caulfield Cup Day and witness his progression over time.
Mick Price stated “If Le Mans races well on Saturday then we are likely to head towards the G3 Carbine Club stakes on Derby Day over 1600m or Oaks Day in the listed Batman Stakes over 1800m”.
