Sistine Demon, an all-the-way winner at Flemington on Saturday, is likely to return to action at the same track on a seven-day back-up.
Trainer Andrew Noblet says the emerging galloper will be an acceptor in the Skipton Handicap (1630m) at Flemington on Saturday.
Sistine Demon scored a 1410-metre win on Saturday and Noblet said the gelding had come through through run with a minimum of fuss.
"He has pulled up as well as could be expected so we will certainly accept with him unless something drastic happens between now and Wednesday," Noblet said.
"I would say he would run on Saturday."
Noblet said Sistine Demon would enjoy an easy time before he galloped again at Caulfield on Thursday to ensure his latest win, his third straight, had not taken too much out of him.
Michelle Payne rode Sistine Demon to victories at Donald and Moonee Valley at his previous two runs before Brad Rawiller steered the four-year-old in his Flemington win.
Noblet confirmed Rawiller would retain the ride.
"It's a tough position to be in with Michelle and Brad both riding him so well," Noblet said.
"I spoke to the owners and they decided to stick with Brad purely because he won on it last time out."
Payne could still ride for Noblet in the race because the trainer also has the last-start Traralgon winner Samulesson among the 31 nominations.
"He might not run at Flemington but he's going very well," Noblet said.
"He's nominated for Moonee Valley so I don't know what race he'll run in at this stage. We'll just have a look at it."
