Regally bred filly Forever Loved has added her name to Gai Waterhouse's carnival team with a wayward but definitive win at Rosehill.
The High Chaparral filly is out of Diamond Like, a descendant of grand brood mare Eight Carat who produced Kaapstad, Octagonal and Mouawad.
The Waterhouse-trained Amanpour staked her claim for the Australian Oaks in April with an all-the-way win at Randwick on Wednesday and James McDonald used the same tactics on Forever Loved ($4.80) in Saturday's 1500m race.
Despite wandering out in the straight and hampering the favourite All Cerise ($3.20), Forever Loved held her rival by 1-3/4 lengths with the same margin to Casino Dancer ($14).
"She has an impeccable pedigree and she's very good," Waterhouse said. "She'll go on to the Oaks."
McDonald said the filly was an ideal staying type and only shifted out because she was on her own.
"She was a long way in front and got a bit lost out there," he said.
Greg and Donna Kolivos, known for racing Pierro, paid $650,000 for Forever Loved at the 2012 Karaka yearling sale.
Forever Loved is on the fourth line of betting in early Oaks markets while her stablemate and fellow Rosehill winner Ecuador is at the head of Doncaster betting.
Ecuador, the $1.70 favourite, also led all the way, holding off Kaypers ($26) by three-quarters of a length.
The four-year-old is also by High Chaparral.
"He is by my favourite sire," Waterhouse said.
"He's in the Doncaster but he will be entered for other big races as well."
Entries for the main races over the two days of The Championships, the pinnacle of the autumn carnival, will be taken on Monday.
