Patient owners, patient trainer, a very relaxed patient horse and a patient ride from Blake Shinn combined to produce the 4^th PROVEN winner for 2014 at Goulburn on Friday. IMPRESSIVE YIELD, who’s had more bad luck than most, stepped successfully from maiden grade to post his second successive win in the BM60 of 1200m.

Getting through the SLOW 7 conditions after enjoying a nice trial in transit the horse went to the line under a kind ride from Shinn to win narrowly but decisively. The DANZERO 4yo bred by Huntworth Stud and purchased at the Sydney Classic Sale for $50,000 now boasts an “impressive” record that reads 2 wins and 2 placings from just 5 starts. His only unplaced effort was first up this prep in a maiden at Gosford where he still hasn’t got out! A subsequent win over 1200m at Canberra after sitting 3 deep with no cover preceded Fridays victory.

Trainer Guy Walter predicts it won’t be the last win the gelding yields provided his troublesome feet stand up to racing. It’s likely he’ll back the horse up either at Goulburn again Friday or Canberra on Sunday. Both events are 1400, a distance he looks to be needing.
