Damian Lane has won his appeal against a careless riding suspension and is free to partner Karacatis in the Group One Oakleigh Plate.
Lane appealed the decision and severity of an eight meeting ban incurred at Ararat last Tuesday and had been riding on a stay of proceedings since Friday until Tuesday's Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board hearing.
He will be riding at Sandown on Wednesday.
Lane has the ride on the Richard Jolly-trained Karacatis in Saturday's Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield having partnered the sprinter to a last-start win in the Listed Christmas Stakes (1200m) at the same track on Boxing Day.
He said the barrier draw would be important but thinks a fast-run Oakleigh Plate would suit.
"I think he can run a ripper race," Lane said.
