Melbourne ace Craig Williams has earned a late call-up to ride in the Shergar Cup, one of the world's most prestigious jockeys' series.
Williams will replace injured Japanese rider Yutaka Take as captain of the Rest of the World team in the series at Ascot in England on Saturday.
He will be joined by Yuichi Fukunaga and South African champion S'Manga Khumalo in taking on teams for Europe and a combined England and Ireland.
Williams will captain his team.
A team of female jockeys will feature Hayley Turner, Canada's Emma-Jayne Wilson and Stefi Hofer from Germany.
Williams has been riding overseas since the end of the Sydney autumn carnival and met with success on Dunaden's brother Pearl Phoenix in France on Monday.
Dunaden, a global thoroughbred star, was retired earlier this year after winning 10 races around the world, including the 2012 Caulfield Cup with Williams in the saddle.
Williams will return to Australian to ride in the PB Lawrence Stakes meeting at Caulfield on August 16.
