First starter Pienkna showed the form trainer Tony Gollan believed could have won her this year's Magic Millions Classic with a runaway win at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.
In what could be the form race of the early Brisbane racing season, Pienkna ($4.20) scored by 2-1/4 lengths to Soldi Domani ($8) with the favourite Dansolei ($3) a long head third in the Sky Racing Maiden Plate (1000m).
Pienkna bounded straight to the lead and was never headed running a slick 57.2 seconds with a fast final 600m of 33.3 seconds.
The effort was even better because Pienkna lost both her front racing plates on the home turn.
Pienkna, who cost $210,000 at the 2013 Magic Millions yearling sales, is regally bred being by top sire More Than Ready out of a Flying Spur mare Vignor.
Gollan revealed Pienkna had always been rated among the top of his two-year-olds from last season.
"We were setting her for the Magic Millions Classic but she struck a few problems. We thought it would be better to give her a proper long spell rather than tackle the Sydney autumn races," he said.
"I put her up there with my good two-year-olds like Looks Like The Cat and Deano. I have also always thought she would make a very good three-year-old and you saw that today."
Gollan said Pienkna would probably go straight to Saturday class.
Winning jockey Tegan Harrison was impressed with the win and predicted big future for Pienkna.
"I saw the shoes fly off on the home turn and yelled at her to keep going because we were in a race," she said.
Trainer Desleigh Forster continued her good run of luck when Real Rocker ($4) won the Sequalo @ Lyndhurst Handicap (1300m).
"He was having only his second run back from bowing a tendon and he can be anything once he learns to race properly," she said.
Smart mare Lanieri, the $1.85 favourite, made it three wins in a row with her six lengths victory in the Gallopers Sports Club Handicap (1200m).
"We scratched her from last Saturday's Eagle Farm meeting because of her barrier. She will get her chance now in Saturday class at Doomben on Saturday week," said trainer Lindsay Gough.
Holidaying trainer Gillian Heinrich got some the expenses for her European trip when Lord Lonhro ($7.50) narrowly won the Food and Wine Raceday Handicap (1200m).
