Boban's rise from restricted class galloper to triple Group One winner has earned him the title of NSW Horse of the Year for the 2013/14 season.
Trained by Chris Waller and ridden to wins in the Epsom Handicap, Emirates Stakes and Chipping Norton Stakes by Glyn Schofield, Boban will be back at the track on Saturday to begin his new campaign.
He was also announced on Thursday as the state's champion miler for the past 12 months.
Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente was the champion middle distance performer but lost out as the NSW Stayer to The Offer, this year's early favourite for the Cup.
Rosehill Guineas and Australian Derby winner Criterion claimed three-year-old honours while Earthquake was the outstanding juvenile.
Tatt's Tiara winner Cosmic Endeavour was the champion sprinter, Famous Seamus the provincial horse of the year and Big Money the country champion.
A special award for achievement was given to Guy and Wendy Walter. Guy Walter died suddenly in May and his wife Wendy took over training duties until July to ensure a smooth transition for the stable.
The racing awards are decided by a points system for performances in black type racing within NSW and interstate.
