Anthony Cummings is eyeing Group One races for former Hong Kong horse Aomen after his winning return from injury at Randwick.

Aomen had not raced for 18 months before stepping out in the 1400m open handicap.

Sent out at $13, Aomen showed no sign of the tendon injury which ended his Hong Kong career, leading all the way under 60.5kg to beat Monton ($9) by half a length.

"The Railway Stakes in Perth is a target," Cummings said.

"He might make it to the Emirates on the way. I think he is up to that class.

"It's just a question of how he deals with life back at the track. He was a bit nervy today which is to be expected."

Aomen's class is underscored by his record which includes close seconds to Hong Kong star Military Attack including one at Group Three level.

Aomen's owner races the former Cummings-trained Thunder Fantasy in Hong Kong and sent Aomen to Australia as a replacement.
