Frankel filly fetches high price at Goffs

Wednesday 30 September 2015, 7:41am

A Frankel filly out of champion race mare Alexander Goldrun has fetched STG1.7 million ($A3.69 million) on the opening day of the Goffs sale.

Michael Wallace, representing the China Horse Club, was the successful bidder.

"She was very obvious. Frankel doesn't need explaining to anyone and being out of a mare like that she's a filly with great long-term value," Wallace told the Racing Post.

"She's for the China Horse Club and the policy across the board is to get through all the yearling sales in Europe and then we'll decide what trainers the horses are going to."

The filly is the first daughter out of Alexander Goldrun who won Group One races in four different countries.

The top price at the sale last year was STG1.5 million.
