Nash Rawiller has begun his quest for the Sydney jockeys' title in earnest with victory in the first race at Randwick aboard Watabout.
The filly is raced by George Altomonte who also owns Golden Slipper winner Overreach.
Starting the $1.70 favourite in the 1300m race for two-year-olds, the Allan Denham-trained Watabout came from the back of the pack to sustain a solid run down the straight.
She finished two lengths clear of Sanzio ($15) with a neck to Northern Glory ($6).
Watabout's win put Rawiller half a win in front of Hugh Bowman with neither successful in the second race.
Altomonte said he would leave a decision on Watabout's next start to Denham but added he thought she was a black-type filly.
"She may run in the Silver Shadow Stakes or a race like that,"Altomonte said.
"Her last two wins have been good and I believe she is a stakes-class filly.
"I'll leave it to Allan where she goes next.
"And we've put Nash in front which is good."
