Mornington trainer Jason Warren is considering sending Loot `n' Run to Sydney after the gelding's surprise win at Caulfield.
Loot `n' Run started at $31 in his Caulfield win on Saturday and Warren has nominated him for a back-up appearance at the same track this week.
But after weighing up options, Warren said Loot `N' Run would be saved for a possible Sydney race.
Warren is aiming instead for a 1400-metre restricted race at Rosehill on December 21 or a 1400-metre handicap at Flemington on the same day.
"He'll have one more run before a break so we can have him racing right through the winter," Warren said.
He put Saturday's upset win down to rival jockeys underestimating Loot `n' Run's ability on a dead track.
"He caught everybody by surprise," Warren said.
"They left him alone and underestimated him because he is known as wet tracker, but if he gets a soft lead he is very hard to run down - wet or dry."
Warren is unsure whether another member of his stable, former West Australian gelding Tombola, will run in a 2000-metre race at Caulfield on Saturday.
Since he came under Warren's care in August, Tombola has put together three wins from four starts in country Victoria.
He credits the improvement in the four-year-old to a more relaxed lifestyle on his Mornington farm and regular visits to Balnarring beach.
"He spends time in the paddocks and at the beach - it's just the change in environment," said Warren.
"He has a very good social life".
Warren has nominated Tombola for Moonee Valley on Friday night, Caulfield on Saturday and again for Wednesday week at Caulfield.
"We want to take closer looks at those races before we decide anything," Warren said.
