The race meeting set down for Swan Hill on Monday has been called off because of expected extreme heat.
Racing Victoria made the decision on Thursday to abandon the meeting with a maximum temperature of 43 degrees expected on Monday at Swan Hill.
A Racing Victoria release said it would be the seventh consecutive day with temperatures expected above 40 degrees in the area.
"This is a decision that has not been made lightly however we feel is necessary to ensure the health and welfare of horses, jockeys and everyone involved in conducting the meeting," Greg Carpenter, Racing Victoria's executive general manager of racing, said.
