Quest For Peace is set to make a name for herself when she tackles the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet on Saturday.
Before now, Quest For Peace has been best known for having the same name as a well-performed imported horse.
She was until last month trained by Peter Moody in Melbourne which caused confusion because he also had a handy imported stayer named My Quest For Peace.
My Quest For Peace originally raced as Quest For Peace when trained by Luca Cumani at Newmarket in England and ran in the 2012 Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.
Gold Coast trainer Toby Edmonds has had the filly Quest For Peace for her past two starts and she was an eye-catching second at $41 in the Listed Princes Stakes at Eagle Farm two weeks ago.
"I actually thought she had won," Edmonds said.
"But the judge didn't agree. It was a very good trial for the Bracelet and then hopefully the Queensland Oaks."
By the noted staying sire Hard Spun, Quest For Peace is owned by leading breeder Stuart Ramsay who has had a lot of success with Edmonds.
"I go back a fair way with Stuart since he sent me a few horses when we started at the Gold Coast and they were successful," Edmonds said.
Edmonds said Ramsay had continued to support him by sending him well-bred fillies looking for black type.
The trainer and owner hope they can have two fillies in the Queensland Oaks (2400m) on May 31.
"I have hopes for Granados who won at Eagle Farm on Wednesday," Edmonds said.
"It is a big step up for her but she is bred to get over a strong middle distance."
