Ruling favourite Srikandi is ensured of a start in the Group One Stradbroke Handicap with 30 horses remaining in contention following first acceptances on Wednesday.
Brisbane Race Club officials confirmed Srikandi would make the field for the June 7 Group One feature with connections paying a $46,000 late entry fee to run.
When first acceptances were taken, Srikandi was allocated 50.5kg although the filly's weight will be raised to 51kg because topweight Buffering did not accept.
However, for the purposes of the ballot Srikandi is rated a `plus 0.5kg horse' under Racing Queensland rules, which means she has been lifted into 12th place on the order of entry.
"All that means Srikandi is definitely in the field," BRC racing manager Bart Sinclair said.
There were no shocks among the Stradbroke first acceptances with Buffering's trainer Rob Heathcote already confirming the sprinter was in the spelling paddock, leaving Doomben 10,000 winner Spirit Of Boom as topweight.
Anthony Freedman's smart galloper Reparations, who has 52kg, is also likely to gain a start.
Reparations has been specked in betting with corporate bookmakers after winning a trial at Doomben on Tuesday in good fashion.
There were 25 first acceptors for the Group One Queensland Derby and 16 for the Group One J J Atkins, both run at Eagle Farm on Stradbroke day.
Arabian Gold, favourite for Saturday's Queensland Oaks, is among nominations for the Derby.
The notable absentee from the two races was star Gold Coast filly Aimee who will miss the J J Atkins and instead be spelled in preparation for the spring.
