Winona Costin to join Snowden stable

Monday 18 May 2015, 5:49pm

Leading Sydney apprentice Winona Costin has ended her association with Gai Waterhouse and will join the Peter and Paul Snowden stable.

Tensions between Costin and Waterhouse surfaced some months ago and she was stood down by the stable after a trackwork incident.

Racing NSW stewards intervened and Costin went back to Waterhouse in January.

Stewards interviewed Costin, her manager Anthony Haining and Waterhouse's foreman Mark Newnham on Monday and it was mutually agreed the apprentice's indentures would be transferred to the Snowdens.

Costin has ridden 31 winners this season with her nearest rival Samantha Clenton on 13.
