Chad Schofield to ride in Durban July

Young South African-born Australian jockey Chad Schofield will return to his homeland to ride in its premier race.

Schofield will ride the Australian-bred The Conglomerate in the Group One Durban July in two weeks.

The 21-year-old has been riding in England during the Australian winter.

He partnered Criterion to fifth in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot and will start a contract in Hong Kong in September.

"Can't wait to ride in the country I grew up in," Schofield said on Twitter.
