Two more city meetings have been shifted away from Sandown.
The Sandown Lakeside and Hillside tracks have been out of action since April for remedial works after the surfaces came in for criticism.
Meetings, including major jumps programs, have been transferred to other tracks with racing scheduled to return to Sandown on August 5.
Racing Victoria has announced two meetings in September have been moved to Pakenham's turf track and as a result a Pakenham meeting has been shifted to Sale and a Sale meeting moved to Echuca.
Racing Victoria's racing operations manager Paul Bloodworth said the transfer of the two Sandown Lakeside meetings on September 16 and 23 was a precautionary move to ensure the track was not overtaxed once racing returned.
"Together with the Melbourne Racing Club we have decided to reduce the track's workload during September to ensure it hosts no more than four meetings across August and September and remains in optimum condition for the Sandown Classic in November as well as the five meetings programmed during December," Bloodworth said.
RV also agreed to the Melbourne Racing Club's request to swap the 2016 Mornington Cup and Easter Cup meetings around.
The switch ensures the Easter Cup meeting at Caulfield is run on Easter Saturday, March 26 with the Mornington meeting a week later.
