Melbourne's leading apprentice Patrick Moloney will miss the rest of the season after being hit with a suspension for careless riding in a race at Bendigo resulting in a three-horse fall.
Chris Symons, Damien Oliver and Jye McNeil all fell in the incident on June 11.
McNeil walked away unscathed, Oliver suffered slight concussion and general soreness while Symons remains on the injured list.
He has a compression fracture of the T6 vertebra and a fractured shoulder blade.
Symons also has problems with an ankle which will be scanned next week and has no memory of the incident.
Stewards charged Moloney with shifting out near the 900m when his mount Iron Jake was not sufficiently clear of Symons' horse Hampshire which clipped heels and fell.
Mefnooda, ridden by Oliver, was following and blundered, shifting out abruptly and making contact with McNeil's mount Adopted Opinion.
Moloney's ban starts immediately and ends on August 3.
Moloney leads the Melbourne apprentices' premiership by 10 wins over Regan Bayliss.
