Golden Spin heavily backed in Manfred Stks

Friday 5 February 2016, 6:22am

The Lee and Anthony Freedman-trained Golden Spin has been heavily supported to extend his winning run at Caulfield.

Golden Spin has been backed from $4.80 into $4.20 favouritism for the Group Three Manfred Stakes on Saturday as he aims for his fifth consecutive win.

After scoring at Bendigo in August, Golden Spin resumed with victory at Moonee Valley on December 11 before going on to win his past two starts at Caulfield over 1200m, the same trip as Saturday's race.

It will be Golden Spin's first attempt in black type company and he has Mark Zahra in the saddle for the first time.

The money keeps coming for the Blue Diamond favourite Extreme Choice who lines up in the Chairman's Stakes.

The Mick Price-trained two-year-old has firmed from $1.70 to $1.60 while there has been some support for the Peter Moody debutante Mandee who has trimmed up from $8 to $6.

Extreme Choice is the $5 favourite for the Blue Diamond Stakes, Melbourne's premier two-year-old event, at Caulfield on February 27.
