Interstate campaigns beckon for Petits Filous after a winning return at Caulfield.
Unbeaten at her first four starts, Petits Filous was having her first start since finishing unplaced in the Group One Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley in October.
Ridden by Michael Dee, Petits Filous outsped her rivals to win the Jack Elliott Handicap on Saturday in 1min 02.54secs, 0.57secs outside the course record held by Here De Angels.
An easing $1.90 favourite, Petits Filous scored by a length from Grey Street ($9) with Jalan Jalan ($4.80) a length away third.
With trainer Ciaron Maher at Oakbank saddling Regina Coeli in the Von Doussa Steeplechase, racing manager Ben Connolly said the filly would next head to Sydney for the Arrowfield Sprint at Randwick on April 9.
Petits Filous will then tackle the Group One Sangster Stakes for fillies and mares at Morphettville in May and Brisbane winter campaign is on the agenda.
"Ciaron's not keen on tipping them out," Connolly said.
"We had a little bit of a setback in the early part of her preparation and this race looked a good kick-off point.
"Looking at the weight she had to carry today she was really sharp but there's still room for improvement to come."
