A horse in Ireland has been banned for 42 days after his trainer was found guilty of using a race as a training exercise.
Pyromaniac finished sixth in a race at Killarney on Tuesday night with his jockey Patrick McGuigan given a seven-day suspension for failing to make sufficient effort on the gelding.
Trainer Tony Martin was found guilty of using the racecourse as a training ground and fined 2000 euros ($A2,920) with Pyromaniac barred from racing for 42 days.
The ban rules Pyromania out of next month's Galway Festival.
