Melbourne-bound filly Happy Event has given trainer John Zielke his 12th two-year-old win of the season with an easy victory at Eagle Farm.
Happy Event ($3.40) bounced straight to the lead and went on to beat River Race ($2.90) by 1 3/4 lengths in the Variety The Children's Charity QTIS Two Year Old Handicap (1200m) on Saturday.
It was her third race win and helped push Zielke's earnings from his two-year-olds this season past $820,000.
Zielke said Happy Event would now have a short break before heading to Melbourne.
"Her next start will be in the Danehill Stakes, which is a Group Two race down the straight six at Flemington," he said.
"We will map out the rest of her campaign from there."
Zielke said the filly would be accompanied south by BRC Sires Produce placegetter Dreams A Plenty and several horses yet to be confirmed.
Apprentice Josh Oliver continued his good recent form with an armchair ride on happy Event.
"She is a class filly and was never going to lose," he said.
River Racer continued his reputation as Queensland's best two-year-old maiden with his fifth minor placing from six starts.
"He had his chance but the winner was too strong at the weights," jockey Brad Stewart said.
