David Hayes is eyeing black-type mares races with Majestic Lass after she maintained her unbeaten run for Lindsay Park at Caulfield.
Formerly prepared by Peter Moody, Majestic Lass scored first up at Geelong in June before winning the ACJC Racing 101 Handicap on Saturday.
Heavily supported from $3 to $2.45, Majestic Lass scored a half-length win over Anatola ($6.50) with Deconi ($26) a length away third.
Hayes said Majestic Lass arrived at Lindsay Park in terrific order after five starts for Moody, including a maiden win at Moonee Valley.
He is keen to try her over more ground than the 1200m she successfully ran on Saturday.
"She's got tactical speed and that tactical speed will show out when she gets out to more ground," Hayes said.
"We nearly went to 1400 metres but we want to try and get her on the spring legs and not race her too much in winter."
Hayes said Majestic Lass would be freshened at Lindsay Park's property at Euroa and be brought back for the better-quality mares races in the spring.
"We'll just play around with her and hopefully have her in September when everyone wants to have a good filly or mare racing," he said.
The victory of Majestic Lass brought up an early double for Lindsay Park following the win of favourite Sebrikka in the opening race.
