The field for the first Group One race of the season has been reduced to 12 with Lord Of The Sky and Tavago scratched from the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield.
The expected race leader, Lord Of The Sky, has been withdrawn from Saturday's race with a leg problem while Australian Derby winner Tavago failed to eat up after losing a tooth.
Damien Oliver, who was to ride Lord Of The Sky, now will now partner Australian Oaks winner Sofia Rosa with Michael Walker suffering back pain after being dumped from a horse at Geelong on Friday.
