Star Brisbane three-year-old Looks Like The Cat is out of the rest of the spring carnival after jarring up badly in the Caulfield Guineas.

Looks Like The Cat was beaten 8-3/4 lengths into 11th place behind Shooting To Win in Saturday's Guineas.

Trainer Tony Gollan said Looks Like The Cat was sore in both front knees on Sunday morning and would be spelled immediately.

"We are looking at the autumn carnivals with him now," Gollan said.

"There are plenty of races for him and he has shown he is up to top company."

"The thing is to get ready for the autumn you really need them back in December and he will have to go straight out to the paddock."

"Funny thing he got through the hard track at Caulfield when second in the Guineas Prelude."

"I am not against firm tracks but I have always thought he was better with a bit softer surface and he jarred up in both legs after he really felt the hard track on Saturday."

Gollan was thrilled with the run of Traveston Girl who ran second in the Group One Thousand Guineas.

"We had to nurse her along this campaign while Looks Like The Cat was no trouble. But that's the way it goes," Gollan said.

"She's now got beaten three-quarters of a length in a Group One after leading for most of the race."

Traveston Girl will also be spelled with a view to autumn racing but Gollan, who returned to Brisbane on Sunday morning to oversee his stable, will add Saturday's Doomben winner Zoomania to his Melbourne spring team.

"The owners are very keen to get black type in Melbourne so we will be bringing her south," Gollan said.

The Gollan-trained Temple Of Boom is on target for the Manikato Stakes on Friday week after being treated for a minor respiratory problem after his fifth in the Gilgai Stakes.
